Greetings, Brothers of the Third District,

It is with a humble heart that on this 22nd anniversary of the historic and tragic attack on the United States, two planes were hijacked by terrorists vowing to cause as much destruction and death to as many Americans as possible. They flew two planes into both towers at the World Trade Center in New York, and one plane was flown into the Pentagon in Washington, DC.

As we remember this day, please take a moment to reflect on our family, friends, first responders, healthcare professionals, and those who were and continue to be impacted by this unprecedented event. Additionally, there will be numerous somber ceremonies across the nation commemorating the almost three thousand people who lost their lives because of the actions of these terrorists.

“…In our time of grief, the American people came together. We offered our neighbors a hand and we offered the wounded our blood. We reaffirmed our ties to each other and our love of community and country. On that day, no matter where we came from, what God we prayed to, or what race or ethnicity we were, we were united as one American family.” ~~ Barack Obama

Brothers, there is strength in numbers, and our fraternity brothers, family, and friends are here for us as we are there for them. With that said, and as mental health continues to be prevalent in our communities, my challenge to you is to reflect and take a step further by calling or visiting someone you know who was impacted by this event to comfort them.

I pray for God to continue blessing, comforting, and providing continuous overflow to you and your family. Thank you for your unwavering support, dedication, and commitment to the communities and people you serve.
