Pi Lambda Lambda (PLL), Third District, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and the Omega U Program honored the Mothers of Omega U and Prince William County Public Schools on May 4, 2019 at Merchant Park.  The event awarded 42 students with certified community service certificates up to 40+ hours for community service projects executed throughout the 2018/2019 school calendar year.  Each mother and mother-to-be was presented a red rose from each of the Omega U students.  The Omega U Program has executed over 55 hours of community service projects in Northern Virginia from September 2018 to May 2019.

Students also executed the Omega U Project GhostRider with students from the Purple Boot Mentoring Program of Southern Maryland on May 4, 2019 at Merchant Park.  Project GhostRider is a STEM initiative of the Omega U Program that partners with RaceTECH Youth Racing League in providing students from 3rd grade to graduating seniors a hands-on learning experience in science, technology, math, and engineering.  Project GhostRider provides the 180+ students of PWCPS Omega U a STEM curriculum through hands-on learning and application with application of mechanical and electrical engineering through remote control cars and drone aviation.  This year, Omega U executed on 60 hours of STEM educational initiatives.  Omega U is also a proud NSBE Jr. organization based out of Dumfries Virginia.

Pi Lambda Lambda is a graduate chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., an international nonprofit social and civic service organization that has over more than 700 chapters with 100,000 members in 14 countries worldwide.

Since the Chapter’s founding in Dumfries, VA, in January 2004, PLL has supported public and community events across the region, benefiting scholarship, health promotion, youth mentorship, citizenship and social action.  PLL has previously been named the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. International Chapter of the Year for three separate years since the Chapter’s founding. PLL is honored with this most prestigious honor bestowed by the fraternity.
