Pi Lambda Lambda (PLL) chapter, Third District of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. – Prince William County, Virginia – On January 14, 2023, the Omega U mentoring program had a Career Readiness presentation by Brother Gary Smith at Potomac Middle School. The objective was to prepare our students for their future goals with the hopes their road to a career will be less challenging. U.S. Marine Sergeant Major Brother Gary Smith led a leadership development discussion promoting the utilization of effective and critical thinking skills, daily attendance, and day-to-day activities within their schools and community perspectives.
Brother Gary Smith further focused on the essentials required to be a contributing member of society, further fostering the understanding of how to best serve themselves and those around them through their help, support, and stewardship. Career readiness skills can apply to any company and level of the job. These guiding principles are a value-add to the student’s first job as a grocery store cashier and their career choices in adulthood.
