Washington, D.C.— Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. initiated the first donation of $10,000 to the Omicron Gamma Chapter’s Student Leaders Memorial Endowment Account at the University of the District of Columbia on September 16, 2020.
First giving honor to God. We would like to thank President Ronald Manson, Jr., 9th President for the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), the Board of Trustees, the staff, faculty, students and alumni for accepting and initiating the Omicron Gamma Chapter’s Student Leaders Memorial Endowment Account on September 16, 2020.
On behalf of Dr. David Marion, 41st Grand Basileus and the thirty-thousand Brothers in Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and Brother Conrado B. Morgan, District Representative for the Third District, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. which encompass Washington, D.C. and Virginia and its one-thousand and nine hundred and seventy-two Brothers we say thanks. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. officially established the Omicron Gamma Student Leaders Memorial Endowment Account at UDC (a Historical Black College or University (HBCU) with a check in the amount of $10,000. This endowment account once up and fully running will award up to five scholarships to the Omicron Gamma Chapter Brothers only using the interested gained.
We now have 10 endowment accounts at 10 universities valued at $500,000 in Washington, D.C. and Virginia. We would like to say thank you to Mr. John Smith, Ms. Edna King, and Mr. Rodney Trapp (UDC’s faculty and staff) for their work and coordination of getting this done. In addition, we thank Brother Jessie Kingsberry, Brother Tony Burley and all of the good Brothers of Omicron Gamma Chapter. A special thank you to Brother Roderick Watson, Northern Area I Supervisor, Brother Derrick Thornton, Basileus, Kappa Psi Chapter and Brother Hilburn Sparrow, III, Basileus, Omicron Gamma Chapter for attending the event.
