Greetings Brothers!

Here is an interesting first from the Third. While doing a little research, I came across this article in the Fall 1977 Oracle (attached). The article reports on the happenings in the Third District at the time, including the Third District achievement week awardees that year. Former District Representative Representative (9th), Brother Sylvester Blue, was named the Omega Man of the Year and, according to the article, the Citizen of the Year award went to “Little Brother,” Carlton A. Funn, a member of Psi Nu chapter’s Lampados Club.

Award notwithstanding, after pulling on this thread and learning more about Mr. Funn, it seems the Brothers selected well. Please make time to read the attached article and check out the links below. Little Brother Funn would eventually become Brother Funn and go on to be recognized for his many contributions as an educator, historian, civil rights advocate, and pillar of the Alexandria, VA community.
