Greetings Brothers!

Kudos to all the Brothers who lent their time and talents to the successful and historic execution of the 82nd Annual Grand (Virtual) Conclave. Yours was an impressive example of brotherly cooperation and good ol’ fashioned Omega resolve. Much respect and gratitude from one brother to another. You are all to be commended.

Of all the reports, speeches, debates, and other goings on, I think my most enduring memory will be the periodic images of the Information Technology team working “command central.” Who knew that Wakanda was actually in Decatur? Black men. Capable men. Omega men! Kudos brothers. You are the stars most worthy of honors.

When the history is written, I pray the words capture and communicate in vivid and sensory detail the spirit of the occasion. It might help the writer of this history to draw a little oil from the lamp of Brother Melvin B. Tolson before putting pen to paper. In his piece, “The Candid Cameraman,” published in the March 1940 Oracle, Tolson develops for the reader the snapshots in his mind of the 1939 Conclave. The resulting exhibit is peculiarly and wonderfully Omega.
