EMMANUEL McCRAE  -  DISTRICT PHOTOGRAPHER

 

 Brother McCrae was initiated into Omega Psi Phi in 1975 through Beta Upsilon Chapter in Omaha, NE. and is a charter member of Omicron Kappa Kappa Chapter. He took the lead in organizing the chapter and was its first Basileus.  He held that office for three years.

 While Basileus, Brother McCrae was also Chairman of the Reclamation & Retention Committee and Mardi Gras Committee, and he represented Omicron Kappa Kappa Chapter as a delegate to the Conclave, Third District Conference, Leadership Conference, Pan Hellenic Council, and  Basileus Council.

 Brother McCrae is currently Third District Photographer, Chairman of the Third District History and Archive Committee, and Assistant National Photographer.

 Brother McCrae has received numerous chapter awards.  He was named Omega Man of the Year three times and is a recipient of the Superior Service Award and Founders Award.

 Brother McCrae has also received the Third District Founders Award and the Scroll of Honor from Brother Rayford Harris.  Brother McCrae has also received letters of appreciation from Alpha Kappa Alpha National President, Ms. Norma White, and General William “Kip’’ Ward, and the Northern Virginia Pan Hellenic Good Guy Award.

 Brother McCrae and his family were recognized as “The 1973 Family of the Year” in Omaha, NE., and were featured in the Omaha World Herald as one of the up and coming professionals.

 Brother McCrae is a native of New York City and a Vietnam veteran, having served four years in the U.S. Air Force.  He played the upright bass in several jazz bands while living in New York City.  In addition, Brother McCrae was active in the Boy Scouts of America and Civil Rights movement, including participating in the 1963 March on Washington
