Tau Rho Chapter in collaboration with the Cople Elementary School (Westmoreland County) leadership supports staff with 2nd Annual Holiday Breakfast

On December 18th 2017, the Men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Tau Rho Chapter (3rd District) and the Rappahannock Regional Uplift and Scholarship Foundation (RRUSF) in collaboration with the Cople Elementary School (Westmoreland County) leadership hosted the 2nd Annual Staff Appreciation Breakfast for approximately 70 staff members and teachers. With many new initiatives by the Westmoreland County School System leadership in support of the staff, the breakfast served as opportunity to show appreciation for all they do in their daily activities which impact the lives of our future leaders!

Participants from the Tau Rho Chapter include: Brother Lyndon Roane, Brother Jeffrey Jones, and Brother Kevin Newman. Also assisting, was Mr. Gerald Roane, Former Chairman of the Westmoreland County School Board and the father of Brother Roane.

Brother Lyndon Roane gave the staff a quick overview of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and most importantly the history and legacy of the Tau Rho Chapter which was chartered in 1964.  Mr. Roane further described those efforts such as how the Staff Appreciation Breakfast is just one example of Tau Rho’s continued community outreach as a part of the Fraternity’s Social Action platform.  Additional events are planned for 2018 and Mr. Roane reaffirmed Tau Rho Chapter’s commitment to Cople Elementary.

Since 1964, the Tau Rho Chapter has served the greater Fredericksburg area including the Northern Neck. For additional information on upcoming events and other initiatives supporting the community visit the website @ www.taurhoques.org
